A photograph captures a moment in time. The earth turns, the clouds move across the continents, fog moves in, the sun comes up and goes down. No moment in time is ever exactly the same. New construction adds another element of change. What used to be a view of brownstone roofs and tenement buildings with the Williamsburg Bank Tower rising above them, is now a more varied skyline as skyscrapers have joined the Art Deco tower.
These two photographs, taken on the same day but at different times, show how light and weather conditions can completely change the same scene.
